Social media tips

Growing on social media can be hard no matter if you are an individual or a business.    Below I have compiled a list of some times to help you get growing on your chosen social media platform.  1. Define your goals Clarity: Determine what you want to achieve with your social media presence (e.g., brand awareness, lead generation, customer engagement). Specific targets: Set measurable goals (e.g., increase followers by 20% in 3 months, generate 100 leads per month). 2. Know your audience Research: Understand your target audience's demographics, interests, and behaviors. Persona creation: Develop audience personas to tailor your content and messaging effectively. 3. Choose the right platforms Target audience: Select platforms where your audience is the most active.  Content suitability: Consider the type of content each platform supports (visual for Instagram, professional for LinkedIn). 4. Consistent branding Profile optimisation: Use a consistent brand logo, colors,...

Moving to a new country | with kids

Moving to a new country can be exciting but nerve wracking add in children and it can feel overwhelming to say the least, today I want to share all the advice and tips I have to move overseas after having just made an overseas move for myself with my two young daughters.   Mid January I moved from New Zealand back to Australia, some of you may know that I was actually born in Australia and lived over here until 2011 so for me this was about returning home but for my kids it was moving countries for the first time and while my youngest had no idea what was going on as she was only 3 months old my eldest had a range of emotions and it was honestly quite tough on her at times.   My first bit of advice is to just talk about the move, explain why you’re moving and what to expect in an age-appropriate way so that they can better understand what is going on, talk about all the positives with the move    that would interest them from new experiences to making new friend...

Typical day in the life as a single mum of 2

Being a single mum of two has really changed my perspective on a lot of things. I had been a single mother with my eldest for years before my 2nd was born and honestly I found that so much easier at times compared to two kids but I wouldn’t change it for the world.   I thought I would jump on here and walk you through a typical day in the life with two kids    on my own, this does vary day by day but I just wanted to do a general day.  I typically wake up before both girls to get myself a coffee and put some of the boiled water to the side to start cooling for my youngest infant gaviscon because she has pretty bad reflux and since the doctor put her on it she has gotten so much better.  By the time I have had my coffee my eldest is awake so I make her breakfast and get her to take off her nappy so she can use the potty through the day. I fill up her water bottle and get started on making up the gaviscon as my youngest is starting to wake up, she has it and a nap...

How I track everything I do & how I plan to do better

How I keep track of everything  Keeping track of everything I need to do for social media can be difficult and thankfully in 2024 I was getting really good at pre-filming and keeping ahead of all my work.  When ever my daughter was away with her dads family I would pre-film my YouTube videos and TikTok’s in advance, I would try to always be a month ahead of my schedule to make it easier.  To keep track of what needed to be done I would write out a plan with each date a video or podcast needed to go up and what it was so that I knew what I needed to film and the date it needed to be done and posted by.   How I plan to do better I know I struggled to keep on top of everything all the time the last few years with just one child who I did get breaks from at times to be able to pre-film etc. and now with a second child here and in a new country with less time; I know it is going to be harder even though I was just starting to get in a routine so I have spent a while ...

How I hid my pregnancy

It is no secret now that I spent most of 2024 pregnant and I managed to hide it for basically my whole pregnancy without anyone finding out minus who I personally decided to tell.  I decided to share my tips on how I hid my pregnancy to help others for whatever reason they decide to not share the big news these can help no matter how long you decide you want to hide it for.  Clothing and appearance I opted for loose, flowing clothing like oversized tops and jumpers and towards the end whenever I had people coming over to my house (I rarely left home other than appointments or shopping anyway) I would wear my oodie.  Behaviour I made sure I had plausible reasons ready for changes in my diet, avoiding alcohol, or even when I was feeling sick with morning sickness (e.g., diet change, medication, or a temporary health issue). Situational adjustments I tried to avoid situations where my body might be closely scrutinized. I also reduced social engagements where people mi...
