Makeup 101

Something many females struggle with is makeup; maybe they don't know the ideal order makeup should be in, to not knowing anything about the basics of anything makeup related, so hopefully, this post and the attached video link will help you with everything makeup 101.

my crash course on makeup 101 on my youtube channel where I cover everything in this post makeup 101 video

First, let's discuss the order in which your makeup should be done in. Then, once we know the order, we can dive right into what each product is and does
the correct order goes:
primer
eyebrows (if you want)
concealer/ colour correcter
foundation
loose powder
blush
bronzer
highlighter
eyeshadow
eyeliner (if you want)
lips
mascara
setting spray

now let's dive into what each product does and is

primer: primer is a cream or lotion applied before the rest of your makeup to improve coverage and lengthen the amount of time the cosmetic lasts on the face and help reduce breakouts

eyebrows:pencil or gel for defining or accentuating the eyebrows

Concealer/colour correcter: concealer or colour corrector is a type of cosmetic used to mask dark circles, age spots, large pores, and other small blemishes visible on the skin. It is similar to the foundation but thicker and used to hide different pigments by blending the imperfection into the surrounding skin tone.

Foundation: Foundation is a multi-coloured makeup applied to the face to create an even, uniform colour to the complexion, to cover flaws and, sometimes, to change the natural skin tone. Some foundations also function as a moisturiser, sunscreen, astringent or base layer for more complex cosmetic.
Loose powder: Loose powder seals the moist consistency of the foundation and makes it last longer. It also helps to prevent makeup transfer or runoff one may experience in the middle of the day. For people with oily skin, wearing loose powder is a must because it helps control oil, keeping the face free from shine. there is also pressed powder

Blush: blush or blusher is a cosmetic for colouring the cheeks in varying shades or the lips red. It is applied as a powder or cream.

Bronzer: Bronzer is used to emulate a sun-kissed glow and enhance a tan. Bronzing makeup can be used to darken areas of the skin without masking it or to add warmth. Bronzer is a great way to make your skin look radiant and healthy.

Highlighter: A highlighter is a type of cosmetic product that reflects light. Often used for contouring, it can be applied to the face or other parts of the body to brighten the skin on a given area, create the perception of depth and angles.

Eyeshadow: Eye shadow is applied on the eyelids and under the eyebrows. It is commonly used to make the wearer's eyes stand out or look more attractive. Eye shadow can add depth and dimension to one's eyes, complement the eye colour, make one's eyes appear larger, or simply draw attention to the eyes.

Eyeliner: Eyeliner is used to define the eyes. It is applied around the contours of the eye to create a variety of aesthetic effects.

lips: Many different things can be applied to the lips, lip liner and lipstick, lipgloss and lip balm, lip balm and lip gloss are used to hydrate your lips and sometimes add a bit of colour while most lipsticks ain't very hydrating and just add colour, lip liner helps line the lips to make them more defined

Mascara: Mascara is commonly used to enhance eyelashes. It may darken, thicken, lengthen, and/or define the eyelashes.

Setting spray: Setting spray is a cosmetic product designed to preserve applied make-up for long periods. Usually sold in small spray bottles, setting spray is used by spritzing mist over the face, keeping the make-up application moist for several hours. also comes in a powder

Moving to a new country | with kids

Moving to a new country can be exciting but nerve wracking add in children and it can feel overwhelming to say the least, today I want to share all the advice and tips I have to move overseas after having just made an overseas move for myself with my two young daughters.   Mid January I moved from New Zealand back to Australia, some of you may know that I was actually born in Australia and lived over here until 2011 so for me this was about returning home but for my kids it was moving countries for the first time and while my youngest had no idea what was going on as she was only 3 months old my eldest had a range of emotions and it was honestly quite tough on her at times.   My first bit of advice is to just talk about the move, explain why you’re moving and what to expect in an age-appropriate way so that they can better understand what is going on, talk about all the positives with the move    that would interest them from new experiences to making new friend...

How I manage to run three blogs

Although in 2024 I am only updating two of my three blogs I still thought I would write this blog post as is.  It’s no easy task running three blogs on totally different subjects while maintaining an upload schedule you can stick to but this is how I manage.  I spend one week a year working on my blogs; that’s right only a week. Here is a breakdown so you can better understand how I do this.  Day one: I will look all over the internet and my own brain coming up with ideas for my blog posts  Day two: I chose twelve ideas for each blog and write down what I want to include in my post   Day three: I will make blog graphics up for each post Day four: I will write and edit my writing blog Day five: write and edit main blog  Day six: write and edit endometriosis blog  Day seven: finish up any posts I didn’t get too.  I spend maybe a total of ten hours in that week period working on my blog; I preschedule them so that I don’t have to even th...

How I hid my pregnancy

It is no secret now that I spent most of 2024 pregnant and I managed to hide it for basically my whole pregnancy without anyone finding out minus who I personally decided to tell.  I decided to share my tips on how I hid my pregnancy to help others for whatever reason they decide to not share the big news these can help no matter how long you decide you want to hide it for.  Clothing and appearance I opted for loose, flowing clothing like oversized tops and jumpers and towards the end whenever I had people coming over to my house (I rarely left home other than appointments or shopping anyway) I would wear my oodie.  Behaviour I made sure I had plausible reasons ready for changes in my diet, avoiding alcohol, or even when I was feeling sick with morning sickness (e.g., diet change, medication, or a temporary health issue). Situational adjustments I tried to avoid situations where my body might be closely scrutinized. I also reduced social engagements where people mi...
